Olano Tech LLC ("we", "us", "our"), operating as MemPoint, is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard your information. It also describes our use of Artificial Intelligence ("AI") when it comes to your data.

What We Collect

When you use MemPoint, we collect only what's necessary to provide the service:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and hashed password.
  • Journal entries: The text you write, along with dates and any tags you add.
  • AI-generated data: Entities (people, places, organizations), tags, and follow-up questions extracted from your entries.
  • Chat history: Conversations you have with MemBot about your journal.
  • Usage data: Basic analytics (page views, feature usage) to improve the product.

How We Use It

Your data is used exclusively to power your MemPoint experience:

  • Processing your entries with AI to extract people, places, themes, and reflection prompts.
  • Generating semantic embeddings so you can search your journal by meaning.
  • Powering MemBot conversations about your journal entries.
  • Improving the product based on aggregate usage patterns.

What We Never Do

  • Sell your data. Never. Your journal is not a product.
  • Share with third parties. Your entries are never shared with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else.
  • Train AI on your entries. Your writing is processed by AI providers within Amazon Bedrock to extract insights for you, but it is never used to train or fine-tune any AI model.
  • Read your journal. MemPoint employees do not access your entries unless you explicitly ask us to for support purposes.

Data Storage & Security

  • Your data is stored in encrypted databases hosted on Amazon Web Services infrastructure.
  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms — we never store plaintext passwords.
  • All data in transit is encrypted via TLS.
  • AI processing happens via Amazon Bedrock, which does not retain your data after processing.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

  • Access: View all your data anytime through the app.
  • Export: Users can export all data (journal entries, tags, and entities) at any time by contacting support.
  • Delete: Request full account deletion by contacting support — all data permanently removed within 7 days.
  • Correct: Edit or remove any journal entries or tags at any time.
